Great surprise!!!

This app was a pleasant surprise!! I love it!!

Training plan gone

I was over halfway through my training plan when it wouldnt load my plan anymore and wouldnt log me in. Its so annoying that its all lost.

Preparing for a second marathon

Im not really a runner so Gipis helps motivate me to keep on a schedule. I used it to train last year for a race and am doing it again for the same race this year. There is nothing else like this app in a free version that Im aware of - and no advertising! Kudos to the developers. Glitches I have pointed out in the past through the apps feedback function have been fixed (and I even was notified about them - Im very impressed with this level of responsiveness!), but I do have to mention some new frustrations... • I like adding comments right after my workouts so it is frustrating that the workout details usually dont get uploaded until hours after I have completed the workout. I dont recall this delay occurring last year. • I dont always do the workouts on the actual days scheduled, so it would be nice if the results were date-stamped and listed in the order done. I have to rely on the other running app I use to figure out what I did when. As a workaround, I manually type the date into the comments, but as mentioned above, thats hard to do when the results dont get posted right away. • Today, the app is seriously malfunctioning - I cant access my workout plan to see what Im supposed to do or to use the app while doing the workout if I remembered what it was. Therefore, no run this morning. :-( Also, I tried to add a comment to a previous days run and that is giving me an error message, too, and not allowing me to post anything. I couldnt access the home screen. It did look like I would have been able to do an ad hoc run but that wouldnt give me pacing help. • As someone else mentioned, the calibration seems off. I use the app in tandem with Runkeeper (from which I get audible pace and distance announcements periodically as well as my music) and, for example, for one workout last week Gipis said I did about a 10-minute mile pace and Runkeeper reported it as closer to 11:00. Unfortunately, I think Runkeeper was probably right. Finally, Id like to second the excellent suggestion made by another user to allow people to manually create workouts. We are not always working toward a particular race, but we might want to run with individual workout goals. That would be great! I hope you can fix todays technical problems soon. Thanks for an overall good app.

Frustrating

I really loved this app when I first got it - short easy runs and harder, long-distance runs to improve my pace. However several times when I would open it, the "plan" section would not load any runs. It was just a blank screen. This was frustrating as I am in the middle of training for a marathon. It takes effort to get ready for a long run and then you cant even access the data. Finally I tried logging out and back and now it says I have no account whatsoever. Its disappointing as this was my go to running tool.

My favorite running app!

Ive often thought about creating an app to do exactly this - the app is extremely easy to use and perfect for setting goals - I love, love, love it and have recommended it to several others! Thank you for giving me exactly what I wanted! Please dont change too much, I like it just the way it is! Now if only it could tell me to put down that cookie, Id really have it all.

10-mile? Nope.

You would expect an app that literally shows an image of a 10-mile run option...to have one. You would be wrong. Ridiculous.

Great Training App...But....

I am a previous MapMyRun user but needed some help with pacing while training for my first half. I really, really like that this app creates a plan based on your previous abilities, which ensures that (hopefully) your risk of injury decreases because you dont push yourself harder than what your body is capable of. My only issue with that is...a lot of the plan had me running at my easy pace for less than 1 hour. When you train at an easy pace and only throw in a few "harder" paced sessions at long distances, your body learns to run at the easy pace. So when my half marathon day rolled around, I didnt even come close to my goal. This was frustrating to me because I had been training for months. Now perhaps that was an unrealistic goal for my first half, but it was also the goal projected by Gipis. Ive signed up for another half and Im going to follow Gipis plan religiously again and see if it can get me to my goal. If not, Ill probably be on the lookout for a new training plan.

Best tuning trainer

It is motivate .

Love the app but its glitchy

I love love love the App. It has all the features I want and keeps me motivated. But every 3-4 runs it forgets all my info and I have to start completely over. Its very frustrating because I love this app and want to use it but I cant risk loosing my progress constantly and starting from the beginning.

Easy run planner

Great app. Will create your training plan, then monitor your efforts and check them off. Based on sound technical parameters to create a perfect plan for you. Awesome helper for your training.

Needs treadmill support

I really wish it worked on the treadmill. I get it, outside running is more like race conditions but sometimes its nasty out and you have to go on a treadmill. Adding that and increasing pace accuracy would make this app perfect!

Great app!

If youre looking for an app to nurture your ego or tie your shoes for you, this is not it. However, if you have been trying for years to figure out how to pace yourself while getting stronger and faster, and cant do it without a plan… This app is for you. It is especially good for guys like me, in our upper 40s or early 50s – keeping with the planned pacing has never left me sore or injured. Well done.

Almost there..

Only thing that could make this better is to sync with either outlook calendar or iPhone calendar.

Great plans

I wanted to train for an upcoming 5K. This app took my parameters and created a realistic plan based on my fitness level.

Love it.

Have used Gipis for 2 years. Started as a beginner runner. Love the personalized plans. Love the voice cues to go faster/slower. Love that I can play my own music, and still hear voice cues. They added a halfway notice--awesome. This helped me prepare and run a half marathon which I would never have dreamed of a few years ago. Love the training options, 3k - marathon. Would love to see a weight loss training program.

No plan change supported

The marathon I want to run has been postponed a week. Every time I attempt to change my plan to reflect the change, I either have data erased, the (new) plan ignored, or both. Is a one week change really that extraordinary to request?

Sorry we cant help you!

Back when I was in prime shape I LOVED this app. But since then I have gained quite some weight. I decided to get back at running and uploaded the app again, making a new profile, and putting in my vital information height/weight ect. Well after putting all of that in the app told me that they could not plan runs for me because of my high BMI. But isnt that the point of using a fitness app? I am trying to better myself and all this app made me do was feel worse about my body and it completely discouraged me. So thank you Gipis for making me feel so much worse about my body. I am truly disgusted in this "health and wellness" app.

Just what I was looking for to train for my 13.1!

This app is easy to use and helps me keep my pace. I have been training for a few weeks and so far so good! Its helping build my confidence and I cant wait to use it each time I run. Update: ***I wish it had a treadmill function for days I want to log a run but its too dark/rainy/etc to run outside. ***I have lost my progress twice when I have opened other programs. I accidentally opened my camera app and when I got back into Gipis I had lost everything for that day :(. Still think this app is pretty perfect, though!

Needs longer training time

I like this app and its options. However my race is 10 months away and it will only let me go up to 6 months out.

Fantastic App!

Ive used just about every running app out there and I always seem to come back to this one. The training plans are spot on and outside of the occasional app crash I have no complaints. Only thing I wish Gipis had was Apple Health integration (thus the 4 star rating).
